Internship Program Outline:

The CtK Internship program exists to prepare men and women for vocational service to Jesus and his church. Internships are custom-designed to explore and identify potential ministry career paths and callings. The CtK internship also provides interns with practical ministry experience designed to prepare them for a career in ministry. That career path could include vocational ministry as pastors, church staff, local and global missionaries, parachurch ministries, etc. Our particular hope is that the Lord would see fit to raise up future church planting teams.

Overview: CtK's internship is a 1-2 year-long program. We personalize each internship after considering the long-term calling of each intern, the gifts of each intern, and the needs of our church. Once accepted, each intern will meet with the Associate Pastor to establish agreed-upon year-long goals and responsibilities. After two years, certain interns will have the opportunity to extend an additional two years as ministry 'residents' if there is a position at CtK. If not, we hope to connect second years interns with other career ministry opportunities.

Time demands: While time commitment may vary from week to week, interns should anticipate that the internship will require roughly 30-40 hours per week. For seminary students, we hope that the internship will overlap and enhance seminary classes and not distract from them. Therefore, we consider the time demands of classes or other vocational enrichment opportunities when setting expectations.

Oversight: The Associate Pastor will oversee the internships working with each intern to develop weekly and monthly ministry plans. In some cases, other staff may supervise a specific intern, depending on the nature of each internship. Each intern will check in daily with the Associate Pastor (or other staff) for a brief organizational conversation (10-15 mins). They will also attend weekly staff meetings and participate in any other staff or volunteer meetings appropriate to their goals.
