Program Outline

The Apprentice Program at Prince is designed to give those who sense a call towards vocational ministry a year embedded in the life of the local church to gain clarity on calling, practical ministry experience, and theological training for a recommended 2 year period. There are five components to the Apprenticeship program:

  1. Ministry-specific experience (i.e., college, children, students, production, missions, discipleship, etc.)
  2. Personalized Leadership Development (develop and work through a ministry growth plan)
  3. Theological Training (through partnership with Southeastern Seminary)
  4. General Church Ministry Exposure. (involvement in certain staff meetings, church-wide ministry events, etc.)
  5. Spiritual Formation and Mentoring (Each Apprentice will be assigned a mentor for the year)

Apprentice Position Details

Commitment - 23 Months: August 1st 2024-June 30th 2026
Hours - Full-time employment, 40 hours/week
Fundraising Goal - $40k/year
Gross Salary - $31,000/yr ($2,583/mo)
Estimated Net Salary - Reliant (the official employer) conservatively estimates that net take-home pay will be between 15-20% less than their gross. An individual's tax liability depends on what is inputted on the W-4 upon hire. This will affect how much money is taken out of your monthly gross pay.

PABC Benefits:

  • Each Apprentice receives $15,000/year towards either fundraising goal OR to pay for tuition at Southeastern. Possible nine credit hours per semester. (Apprentices are encouraged to also pursue the Keesee Scholarship and other financial aid options at Southeastern to help offset the cost of theological education. This will allow you to free up more of the allotted money to help you towards your fundraising goal. Each semester, you will have the choice of using $7,500 to cover a portion of SEBTS tuition or redirect that money towards your fundraising goal through Reliant.
  • Each Apprentice will also receive a $1,500 Mission Trip allotment as we encourage you to be a part of at least one mission trip during your apprenticeship.

Application Process

In this application, you will go through a series of phases:

  • Phase 1 - Reliant Application (click apply to start!)
  • Phase 2 - Ministry Assessment
    • You will receive an email with your ministry assessment questions after your application is reviewed
    • *NOTE: You will not be able to save your answers in between sections. Please set aside an hour to do this assessment*
  • Phase 3 - Local Interview
    • An interview will be done by your local supervision based on your ministry application and assessment

Upon provisional acceptance, you will register for support-raising training run by Reliant to start your support-based ministry journey.
